Aquavoss Model 2 Hot Tub Airlock

How to Resolve an Airlock on your Model 2 Hot Tub

An airlock is a common occurrence for any hot tub owner; so don’t be alarmed if you run into this with your Model 2! An airlock is very easy to identify and fortunately, very easy to resolve as well.
Use the video below, as well as the instructions that follow, to guide you through identifying and fixing an airlock problem.

IDENTIFYING AN AIRLOCK IN YOUR HOT TUB

There are two ways to determine if there’s an airlock in your hot tub:

First, when you power on your hot tub, it will enter priming mode. You’ll hear the circulation pump start. However, you won’t see any water circulating through the hot tub. Normally, you would see bubbles appear in the middle of the hot tub when there is proper circulation.
Second, the control panel will display OHH for overheating or DRY indicating a lack of water flow.
RESOLVING AN AIRLOCK PROBLEM
Now that you’ve identified that your hot tub indeed has an airlock, here are the steps to address this problem:
1. Turn off the system: Hold the power button for 3 seconds to shut down the system.
2. Remove the front access panel: Take off the front access panel to access the internal components.
3. Locate the water union: Find the water union that connects the pump to the control system.

4. Release air from the water union: Loosen the water union by turning it counter clockwise until you hear a hissing sound. This hissing sound indicates that the trapped air has been released. Continue to twist until you visibly see water coming out of the union. Very important: place a bowl underneath the union when you do this so that when the water spills, it does not spill onto the pump underneath it.
5. Turn on the system: Turn the power back on to the hot tub from the electrical breaker. The airlock should be resolved.
6. Contact customer support: If the issue persists, get in touch with our customer support for further assistance.
