Let’s do a deep dive comparing the two contrast water therapy options available on the cold plunge market: the Aquavoss Model 2 and the Chillygoat Valaris. We have customers reach out to us all the time asking for the points of distinction, so we figured it would be worthwhile to do a comprehensive deep dive comparing the two.
To start, we want to emphasize that both are great products and the right decision for you truly depends on the type of contrast water therapy you are looking to experience. As you will see in the specs outlined below, the two options are highly comparable:

Seating Capacity
As you take a look at the units, there are some very important call-outs between the two. The most noteworthy difference is the seating capacity and design as shown in the images above. While the overall footprint of the spas are the same at 84”x84”, the interior seating arrangements are substantially different and have different capacity for holding individuals. The Aquavoss Model 2 comfortably seats 4 people on the hot tub side, while the Valaris can seat up to 2 people on the hot tub side. On the cold plunge side, 1-2 people can both fit into the Aquavoss Model 2 and the Chillygoat Valaris.
Design and Aesthetic
From a design perspective, the Valaris gives a very ‘athletic look’ which is great for athletic training zones. The Aquavoss on the other hand boasts a more sleek design that is more suitable for at home / residential aesthetics. With the capacity to hold 4 in the hot tub and 2 in the cold plunge, the Aquavoss Model 2 is a great solution for people that 1.) want a hot tub to enjoy together and 2.) simultaneously want a cold plunge to experience contrast water therapy. This is also a great option for AirBnB owners looking to increase their nightly occupancy rates and nightly stay fees.
Durability:
Both are highly durable products as they use marine grade insulated covers, weather resistant exterior paneling, and acrylic shells that maintain temperature very well.
Hydromassage Jets:
Both are comparable in that the hot tubs both have pumps that are 3 horsepower each. These pumps are fueling 24 jets for the Aquavoss and 16 jets for the Valaris. Needless to say, the waterflow coming from the jets on both hot tubs are quite substantial and not a major point of differentiation.
Ease of Repair:
Both the ChillyGoat and the Aquavoss brands have a network of hot tub technicians across the country that can operate and make repairs to the units should something arise.
Cleaning System:
Both the Valaris and the Model 2 have comprehensive cleaning systems for both the cold plunge and hot tubs. The Model 2 uses separate ozone systems for each tank. The hot tub side runs a circulation pump every 3-4 hours to filter and clean the water and the cold plunge side uses a different circulation pump to circulate the water through the ozone system. The Valaris uses UV Light system to clean the water – however the intricacies of how the system works across the two tubs is not clear.
Price:
The Valaris is priced at a higher point than the Model 2.
In conclusion, these are two great options for someone looking for a contrast water therapy experience, however there are a few things that really set the Model 2 apart from the Valaris:
- The Model 2 has a larger capacity (6 people) compared to the Valaris (2-4 people).
- The Model 2 has a better price point than the Valaris.
- The Model 2 has a sleeker design better suited for residential homes.
